DENISE C. BROWN

Attorney

Attorney Denise Brown is an educator at heart. She put her passion for education to work in the legal practice and enjoys helping clients learn more about estate planning tools and long-term care planning strategies. Having previously practiced in the area of probate litigation, Denise recognized early on the need for proper planning and aspires to help her clients achieve their estate planning and long-term care goals. Denise has a background as a commercial litigator for a large Florida-based law firm and also served as a staff attorney to a Senior United States District Court Judge. She has been teaching law and business courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and law school levels for over twenty-four years. Most recently, she developed a renowned pre-law program for high school students that garnered national recognition.

Denise earned a Juris Doctorate degree with honors from the University of Miami School of Law in 1999. During her tenure as a law student, she received numerous honors and awards, including the prestigious Legal Research Fellowship and the Dean’s Scholarship. Denise participated in Moot Court where she, along with her dear friend and teammate, Bobbi Meloro, were selected by a panel of Florida Supreme Court justices as First Place winners in the state-wide Robert Orseck Memorial Moot Court Competition. Denise later published a student article on Asset Protection Trusts in the Winter 1998 edition of Business Law Review. Upon graduation, the University invited her to be an Instructor for the School of Law’s Legal Research and Writing Program. This invitation helped launch Denise’s career as a legal educator.

Prior to attending law school, Denise worked for a nonprofit agency assisting adults with disabilities find job placement and training in professional careers. She earned both a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic University, both with highest honors. While an undergraduate student, the student body voted Denise Most Outstanding Female Graduate and she published an article on International Business in the school academic publication known as Opus Journal.

Denise grew up in the northeast and attended college in the Palm Beaches. After multiple corporate moves with her husband’s employer, she and her family made their way back to Florida in 2016 where Denise remains active in the local legal community and her church. She is a participating member of the Christian Legal Society, local bar organizations, and multiple community groups serving seniors. Denise is married to her high school sweetheart and the couple recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Together, they enjoy time with their three sons, their new daughter-in-law, and their Italian greyhound, Luna.
